The MLPA board are volunteers who are elected each April to govern the MLPA. At the Annual Meeting on April 24, 2017, 7 PM at Morningside Presbyterian Church’s Fellowship Hall we will vote on the new slate including both returning (marked with a * ) and some new volunteers. Short bios for the new volunteers are shown below:

Lynn Ayers–Lynn and her husband, John, have been residents of Morningside for ten years and lived in the Druid Hills, Midtown, and Morningside area for thirty-eight years. Their company, J W Ayers Plumbing, Inc., which has been in business for thirty-four years, is also located in the Morningside area. She has served MLPA as a member of the zoning, events, membership, and parks committees. . Lynn has also a been a volunteer with the Alliance Theatre for over thirty years. They have four grown children and four grandchildren that, unfortunately, live on the west coast.
Sharon Ferguson–Sharon and her husband, John Martin, settled in Morningside upon their marriage in 1982, finding the neighborhood’s walk-ability a common strand between her upbringing in Manhattan and his in rural Alabama. They have raised a son and two daughters here, who now live in Edgewood, London and New York. Sharon served as president of the Morningside PTA and on the boards at Morningside, Inman and Grady as well as CINS. A former marketer, Sharon remains active as an academic mentor in the Grady cluster schools.
Drew Gandy–Drew was born and raised in Atlanta and moved to Morningside with his wife, Laura Beth, four years ago. They have one son, James, who is 2.5 years old. Drew is interested in the secretary position so as to become more involved in the MLPA and the neighborhood. Professionally, Drew is an attorney focusing on real estate and finance.
Julia Payne–Julia has lived in Morningside since 2011 with her husband and two sons with the oldest attending Morningside Elementary. She is an outdoor enthusiast and loves running and biking through our beautiful neighborhood. She believes our great network of parks and nature preserves are what make living in town such a great experience. Julia attended Clemson University and has since worked in the media industry, currently with Turner Broadcasting.
Jeff Rolsten–Jeff moved to Morningside 20 years ago from Candler Park. This is the first committee position that Jeff has volunteered for but he has hundreds of volunteer hours working on many events in Atlanta. Professionally, Jeff is a Supply Chain Management professional and worked for BellSouth the majority of his career.
