Maintaining the neighborhood’s character and protecting neighbors from zoning violations is the work of the Zoning Committee.  Volunteers hear variance requests the first Tuesday of every month (except when that date is a holiday) at 7:00 PM. Meetings are currently held online via Zoom (https://zoom.us/join) (Meeting ID: 535 603 8520 Passcode: TJb7U3). All neighbors are welcome to attend.

To join the committee, simply begin coming to meetings.  There is a requirement that new members attend at least 3 meetings in order to vote on variance recommendations.  Please consider helping to maintain the integrity of our neighborhood by contributing to this work.  Contact zoning@mlpa.org with questions.

The city of Atlanta’s Zoning Code has designated a majority of the Morningside Lenox Park neighborhood residential, with some exceptions along our major thoroughfares and in the area north of Cheshire Bridge Road.  Here is a link to a summary of the rules that apply to the various R districts.

See below for links to the rezoning / variance request(s) that the committee will consider at their upcoming meeting:

The Zoning Committee is currently meeting virtually. The committee is reviewing five applications for September, listed below.
